Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the differences and similarities between aerobic and anaerobic training methods for school athletes, with a particular focus on how each method influences muscular power, endurance, and overall physical performance. Aerobic training, which typically comprises of workouts performed at a moderate intensity for an extended period of time, is acknowledged to be effective in enhancing cardiovascular efficiency and stamina. The primary goals of anaerobic training, on the other hand, are to improve muscular strength, power, and speed. This type of training is characterised by short, high-intensity efforts. For the purpose of this study, school-aged volunteers who participated in organised training in both modalities were evaluated on crucial performance measures such as their maximum oxygen consumption (VO2), sprint speed, agility, and endurance. According to the findings, anaerobic training is more effective in improving explosive power and speed that is specialised to a sport, but aerobic training significantly boosts endurance and the capacity to recover from exertion. The findings of the study indicate that young athletes, depending on the requirements of their particular activity, would benefit most from a combination of both types of training modalities working together in a balanced manner.
